What is firmware?
Firmware is essentially software that's built into the hardware on your devices. In our case, it provides instructions for the hub and monitor on what to do and communicates that back to the Sutro server.
What do firmware updates do?
Sutro devices are already loaded with the most recent firmware version when it is shipped from the manufacturer. However, we are constantly improving how the Sutro works and we will sometimes provide firmware updates for your hub and monitor. These updates will usually fix bugs, contain new features, or even just create efficiencies.
What should I do when Sutro firmware is updating?
If there is a new firmware update available, it will typically be done during calibration after a cartridge chagne. The best thing to do while your Sutro firmware is updating is to leave the hub and monitor where they're already at and not touch it. Doing things such as taking out the battery in the monitor or unplugging the hub can have damaging affects to the firmware update. Your Sutro app will let you know when the device is updating, and it usually only takes about 30 minutes.
