In climates where the temperature dips below freezing during the winter we recommend removing your monitor and storing it safely inside until it’s above freezing again. However, if you leave your pool open then you can leave your monitor in the water and continue to use it as long as the temperature is above freezing.
If the monitor is subjected to freezing temperatures then the water and reagents inside could freeze and damage the monitor and/or cartridge so we recommend storing your monitor inside when the temperature will be below 40℉ just to be safe as the operating range is from 36℉ - 105℉ for the reagents and hardware.
Here are the steps to take when removing your monitor:
Temporary Removal - (Shocking, pool repair, party, et cetera)
- Log into my.mysutro.com
- Click on the subscription tab.
- Click the “pause readings” button to prevent the monitor fromaking readings while it is out of the water.
- Remove the monitor from the water and store it in a safe place.
- Once you are ready to put it back in the water simply return to the subscription tab and restart readings.
Longer Term Removal - (Closing)
- Log into https://my.mysutro.com.
- Click on the subscription tab.
- Click the “Close Pool” button and follow the directions to prep your monitor for storage.
- Once you have completed the Close Pool process you can now get your monitor ready to store.
- Dry it off well to prevent water from getting inside when you open it.
- Open the lid and remove the cartridge and discard it.
- Remove the battery and store it near your monitor (remember where you put your battery so you don’t lose it.) We suggest using the Sutro box that was used for shipping.
- You can unplug your hub if you would like as well.
- Store your monitor and accessories in a safe place to avoid accidental damage.

Looks like the link is broken. Is this company going out of business? No one seems to be able to pause their subscription for the season.
My sutro hasnt really worked well over the past 6 months. Lots of bugs in this product. I think its a great concept, just not ready for prime time yet. That said, the link to cancel your subscription is broken. May just have to work with your credit card company when they try to make a charge
